Message from Mrs. Ahart
Dear Wesley families,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year. I am thrilled to begin my first year as principal of Wesley School. While this is my first year as a principal, I have enjoyed working in District 4 as a teacher for the past twelve years in four of its elementary schools.
Wesley School is a great place for students to develop the social, academic, and emotional skills they will need to be successful in their future endeavors. I look forward to working closely with you and your child to foster this growth. Strong communication with our school and your child’s teacher is critical for this success. Opportunities to connect include email, Sangha, Twitter, notes in your child’s folder, student planner and Seesaw, along with attending school events as much as possible. In addition, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or your child’s teacher at any time with questions, concerns, and suggestions.
At Wesley, we understand that academic growth is only possible when students feel supported and safe. Throughout the year, you will notice a strong focus on our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (P.B.I.S.) program. With this program, students learn about being safe, respectful, and responsible in a variety of settings and receive recognition for making good choices. Students will also be challenged and supported academically and behaviorally through other opportunities, including our House program and varying incentive programs throughout the year.
Thank you for your part in this learning community. I’m looking forward to a wonderful school year!
Mrs. Katie Ahart
